Description
Travertine tolerates the moderate heat produced by candles, making it suitable for tealight, taper or pillar holders when the recess is sized correctly. Sets and single sculptural pieces are both common. Wax should be allowed to harden and lifted carefully rather than dissolved with acidic cleaners. An impregnating treatment may help with wax/oil staining on more absorbent stone. Outdoor use is possible in sheltered areas, although the candle itself needs wind protection.
