Stone Product Packing & Export Shipping Guide

Packing and transport depend on the finished product, order mix and destination. Use this guide to prepare a freight conversation alongside your product quotation.

Protect the product before choosing the presentation

Stone can be heavy while finished rims, corners, openings and projecting parts remain vulnerable. Discuss the product shape, assembly, surface and transit route before settling on individual protection, cartons, pallets or crates. A retail gift box and transport protection serve different purposes.

For lamps, stands and mixed-material designs, include fittings and assembled or separate components in the packing brief. Confirm any destination requirements for wooden packaging with the agreed logistics provider.

Compare the quoted freight scope

Factory collection / EXW

Discuss the named collection point and who handles loading, export formalities and onward transport.

Discuss collection →

FOB / a named loading port

Useful when your forwarder arranges the main freight. Confirm the loading port and which origin charges are included.

Discuss a port handover →

CIF / a named destination port

Review main freight, insurance scope and destination charges. A port quotation does not automatically include import clearance or delivery to your warehouse.

Discuss freight options →

Door delivery

Ask for the scope in writing: delivery address, unloading, customs, duties and taxes. Availability and inclusions depend on the destination and logistics arrangement.

Discuss your destination →

Send only the details relevant to your shipment

Packing dimensions and weights are developed for the actual order. They do not need to be guessed from a display photograph before you enquire.

Confirm documents and records before release

Discuss the commercial invoice, packing list and carrier document with the agreed freight scope. Confirm any inspection photos, packing photos, insurance document, origin document or destination-specific requirements relevant to the shipment. Required documents vary by route and order; establish the final list with the quotation and logistics provider.

Separate production timing from transport

A product schedule, freight booking and transit time are different stages. Material selection, sample revisions, production quantity, packing, carrier schedules and destination clearance can affect the plan. Share your target date early and ask for the proposed milestones for your particular brief.
