Description
A door holder benefits directly from stone’s density, but the required weight depends on door mass, floor slope, hinge resistance and airflow rather than one universal number. A broad, low base is preferable for heavy doors, and felt, rubber or cork underneath prevents the stone from scratching hard flooring. Compact sculptural doorstops can also function as bookends when their geometry provides enough lateral support.
